Join us for a night of eating and drinking like a Sendai local down the atmospheric back-alleys of Bunka-yokocho and Iroha-yokocho!
Undiscovered by most visitors to the city, a step down these alleyways is a step back in time to retro post-war Showa Era Japan.Follow your nose down the lines of hundreds of tiny izakayas (Japanese pubs), bars and restaurants. only sit around 8-10 customers at a time, it can be a little intimidating to enter on your own, but on this tour, you'll be joined by a local guide! Let them introduce you to all the best places and help you navigate the language barrier as you eat, drink and chat to the friendly locals.

Your guide will be waiting for your in front of GAP store, Sendai (just outside of the Aobadori-ichibancho Station on the Tozai Subway line).
They will be holding the ‘Tohoku Local Secret Tours’ sign:
After a quick introduction you will head towards the atmospheric alleyways of Bunka-yokocho and Iroha-yokocho.

Enjoy a walking tour through the alleyways, learning about the history of the area and keeping an eye out for some bars to return to later.

First izakaya! Enjoy your choice of drink and a plate of tasty local food!

Head to a different style of bar and enjoy a second drink and some more food!
