DIY Sake Experience

Make your own 'moonshine' sake and customised sake cup!

The ultimate local experience for sake lovers!

Not only will you have the rare chance to experience part of the process of making ‘Doburoku’ or unrefined sake, you can further customise your next drink by creating your own unique sake cup to drink it out of!

This experience can be joined as a stand-alone package, or combined with an overnight farmstay experience in the Izunuma area.

What’s Included

> Doburoku (unrefined sake) making experience
> Pottery experience

Not included

> Any additional meals and drinks
> Anything not included in the above included list

Meeting place

Meet at the Izunuma Local Produce Centre.

Take a workshop in how to make Japanese ‘moonshine’ or ‘Doburoku’ – unrefined sake!

Enjoy a one hour pottery class with local potter. Choose to make as many items as you want from the clay provided (usually enough for around three sake cups!)

Choose your favourite colour glaze and leave your creations in the capable hand of the pottery master!

Your works of art will take around 3-4 weeks to complete – but will be well worth the wait!

Your sake and sake cup will be sent to you as soon as they are ready for shipping! (Postage cost not included in tour fee)

The experience programs ends at 16:00, but feel free to combine this activity with others provided at the Izunuma produce centre! Anything from farm-stays and cycling to cooking classes, they have you covered for a trully authentic local experience!

Tour ends at Sendai Station
